The Chew: Affogato Milkshake
While the co-hosts of The Chew revealed their favorite ways to treat themselves, Mario Batali wanted to share a recipe to go along with the theme. What better way to indulge than with a milkshake? His Affogato Milkshake, Affogato literally means “to drown,” is a scoop of ice cream drowned in a shot of warm espresso. Believe it or not, Italians actually enjoy this drink on their way to lunch or dinner, instead of as a dessert. Now that’s treating yourself!

The Chew: Affogato Milkshake Recipe Ingredients

- 1/2 C milk
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
- 1 pint vanilla gelato
- 1/2 C espresso – cooled
The Chew: Affogato Milkshake Recipe Directions
- In the carafe of a blender, add the milk and gelato then blend
- Pour into two glasses, then add espresso
- Add a dusting of cocoa powder over top
