Daphne Oz was sharing her snack hacks for creating lighter foods with a bit of an upgrade. Her creamy Frozen ‘Cookie Dough’ Popsicles were an absolute delight, so she then wanted to share a savory recipe. Herbed Popcorn is a great way to fill up without feeling guilty. One of Daphne’s secret ingredients is nutritional yeast, which certainly doesn’t sound very good, but actually is! Whether you add it to kale chips, popcorn, or any of your other favorite snacks, there’s no denying that nutritional yeast is a great flavor booster!

The Chew: Herbed Popcorn Recipe Ingredients

Daphne Oz’s Herbed Popcorn is an easy snack upgrade that can be put together in minutes, with a unique ingredient that adds both flavor and nutrition. (twodolla / Flickr)
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp cayenne (optional)
- 3 oz popcorn kernels – pop without oil in air-popper
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp garlic salt or sea salt + more to taste
- 1/4 C virgin coconut oil – melted
The Chew: Herbed Popcorn Recipe Directions
- Pop the popcorn according to package instructions
- Sprinkle dried dill, thyme, parsley, yeast, garlic salt/sea salt, cayenne, and oregano over the popcorn
- Drizzle the melted coconut oil over the popcorn
- Toss with your hands until well-coated
