The Chew: Parmesan Popcorn
The hosts of The Chew were throwing their own All-Star Cocktail Party, which couldn’t be complete without a tasty snack! Popcorn is actually a pretty healthy snack, and Daphne Oz was excited to show viewers how they could make their own on the stove! But instead of plain popcorn, Daphne added oregano, garlic powder, and Parmesan to be sure each bite is bursting with incredible flavor! This is a fun and tasty snack that you just have to have at your next cocktail party!

The Chew: Parmesan Popcorn Recipe Ingredients

Daphne Oz shared a cocktail party-worthy recipe for Parmesan Popcorn. (mache / Flickr)
- 1/3 C popcorn kernels
- 2 sprigs fresh oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 C extra-virgin olive oil + more to serve
- 1/2 tsp salt + more to taste
- 1/4 tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 1/4 C Parmigiano Reggiano – freshly grated
The Chew: Parmesan Popcorn Recipe Directions
- To a large pot, add olive oil and three popcorn kernels, then put over medium heat
- Once all three kernels pop, add the rest of the kernels
- Mix in salt and oregano, being sure to coat the kernels
- Cover the pot tightly with a lid
- Cook, shaking the pot occasionally, until the popping begins to slow
- Take off the heat and pour into a bowl
- Mix in chili flakes (if using), garlic powder, salt, and pepper
- Toss with Parmesan cheese then add a drizzle of olive oil
- Toss to coat evenly, then throw away the oregano sprigs
