The Chew: Spanish Red Wine Spritzer Recipe

Clinton Kelly’s Spanish Red Wine Spritzer will soon be your new favorite way to use fruity Spanish red wine! (montuno / Flickr)

  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz club soda
  • 1/2 C red wine (like a fruity Spanish red)
  • 1 oz lemon juice + 1 wedge
  • ice – to serve

For the Simple Syrup:

  • 1 C water
  • 1 C sugar

  1. Add ice to a red wine glass
  2. Pour in the simple syrup, red wine, lemon juice, club soda, and the lemon wedge, then stir

For the Simple Syrup:

  1. Use a small pot to bring the water and sugar to a boil
  2. Stir until the sugar dissolves
  3. Remove from the heat
  4. Let cool to room temperature
  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to use
