Rachael welcomed Farmhouse Rules host and author Nancy Fuller to the show. The vibrant chef surely knows how to light up a kitchen and she was beyond excited to share her recipe for stuffed cabbage without the roll. Nancy loves this recipe because, since you don’t have to roll it up, it’s a whole lot easier without cutting back on the flavor!

Rachael Ray: Stuffed Cabbage Without The Roll Recipe

Rachael was joined by Nancy Fuller who had a comforting dish for cabbage rolls, without all the work. (65186679@N07 / Flickr)

  • 1 1/2 lbs ground pork or beef
  • 1 medium carrot – chopped
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • pinch cayenne peper
  • 1 28-oz can whole tomatoes in juice – crushed by hand
  • 3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • kosher salt
  • sour cream – for serving
  • 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 medium onion – chopped
  • 1/2 medium head savory cabbage – shredded
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 3 C low-sodium chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1/2 C long grain rie
  • 3 tbsp chopped fresh dill

Rachael Ray: Stuffed Cabbage Without The Roll Recipe Directions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch over medium-high heat
  2. Add the pork and cook until brown, about 5 minutes
  3. Add the onion, cabbage, and carrot
  4. Sprinkle with paprika, cayenne, and allspice
  5. Cook until the cabbage is wilted, about 5 minutes
  6. Add the broth, tomatoes, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire
  7. Bring to a simmer and cook until the cabbageis tender, about 40 minutes
  8. Add the rice and season with salt
  9. Cook until the rice is just tender, about 15 minutes
  10. Stir in the chopped dill
  11. Serve in bowls topped with dollops of sour cream
