Carla put together Date and Walnut Snacks by making a sweet cream cheese filling to put inside dates before topping with delicious walnuts. The Chew: Date & Walnut Snack Recipe Ingredients
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 12 dates – pitted, halved
- 3 orange peels
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 C vegan cream cheese
- 1 tsp honey
- 24 shelled walnuts
- 1 qt water
The Chew: Date & Walnut Snack Recipe Directions
For the Soaked Walnuts:
- In a large bowl, add the walnuts and 3 orange peels
- Pour room temperature water over the walnuts to cover
- Add salt and stir to mix and dissolve
- Let soak for an hour
For the Snack:
- In a small bowl, add vegan cream cheese, honey, and cinnamon, then mix
- Use a piping bag to fill the date halves with the cream cheese mixture
- Put one soaked walnut into each date half
