The Chew: Wendy Williams
Talk show host Wendy Williams came by The Chew to help Michael Symon make a great Mother of All Hot Dogs recipe for The Chew‘s special “July 4th Cookout” episode. The key of this sandwich is the homemade pickles, which both Daphne and Wendy wanted to take home with them after the segment airs, so you know they’re delicious.

- 3 Pounds Smoked Kielbasa (Cut into 6 Links, 8 Inches Long)
- 6 Hoagie Rolls
- Spicy Brown Mustard
Sweet & Hot Pickles Ingredients
- 1 Cup White Distilled Vinegar
- 1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric
- 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Coriander
- 1/2 Cup Sugar
- 2 Tablespoon Kosher Salt
- 2 Cloves Garlic (Thinly Sliced)
- 2 Cups English Cucumber (Thinly Sliced)
- 1 Cup Red Onion (Thinly Sliced)
- 2 Cups Hungarian Peppers (Thinly Sliced into Rings; Seeds and Stem Removed)
Michael Symon: The Chew Mother of All Hot Dogs Recipe Directions
- Start by making the pickles. In a large Dutch oven, combine the cider vinegar, white vinegar, sugar, salt, coriander, turmeric, mustard seeds, and water. Whisk together and bring to a simmer.
- In a bowl, combine the cucumber, garlic, onion, and Hungarian peppers. Pour the vinegar mixture over it. The longer this sits, the better everything will taste. Let it cool and pour it into a glass jar, such as a Mason jar, and place it in the fridge for a few hours.
- On a preheated grill or grill pan, cook the kielbasa until nicely charred and cooked through.
- Toast the bun on the grill as well.
- Serve the kielbasa in the buns and top them with the pickles and mustard.
- Enjoy!
