The co-hosts brought two sisters into the kitchen to go against each other to find out who’s stuffing recipe was the best. Zelda Owens shared her recipe for Family-Style Thanksgiving Stuffing, while her sister Zuleika made her Shrimp and Crab Stuffing. So who would the tasting table say was the winner, and who would be left having to do dishes on Thanksgiving? Zuleika’s stuffing took home the prize but they were both incredibly delicious!

The Chew: Shrimp & Crab Stuffing Recipe Ingredients

For the Fish Sauce:
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 3/4 tsp lemon pepper seasoning
- 1/2 tsp ground bay leaf
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- 1 green apple – minced
- 1/2 C chicken broth
- 12 oz lump crab meat
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 lb jumbo shrimp – peeled and cut into 3 or 4 pieces
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 3/4 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 1 red pepper – minced
- 1 lemon – zes
- sprinkle of fresh parsley – chopped
For the Stuffing:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic – minced
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 1/2 C plain breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 small yellow onions – minced
- 2 stalks celery – minced
- 1 tbsp poultry seasoning
- 1 1/2 C buttery crackers – finely crumbled
The Chew: Shrimp & Crab Stuffing Recipe Directions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees
For the Fish Sauce:
- Put a large high-sided saute pan or medium saucepan over medium-high heat
- Add the olive oil, shrimp, butter, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and lemon seasoning, then saute for 3 minutes
- Add the bay leaf, black pepper, basil, paprika, mustard, apple, pepper, chicken broth, lemon zest, crab meat, and parsley
- Stir to combine then bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes
- Remove from the heat and set aside
For the Stuffing:
- In a separate large high-sided saute pan or medium saucepan, add olive oil, butter, garlic, onion, apple cider vinegar, celery, and poultry seasoning, then saute until translucent
- Add breadcrumbs and crackers, then stir to combine
- Add warm fish sauce a little bit at a time until completely mixed
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish
- Cover with aluminum foil and let sit for 30 minutes or until ready to serve
- Bake for 10 minutes to warm through
