The Chew: Slow Cooker Ranch Potato Galette Recipe
Carla Hall was with her Chew co-hosts at the International Food and Wine Festival in Walt Disney World and after making her delicious Norwegian salmon, Carla knew she needed to make a dish to serve alongside it. This potato recipe is easy to put together, considering you really just have to slice the potatoes, make the sauce, and then let it all cook in the slow cooker. I think we can all agree that slow cooker recipes rock!

The Chew: Slow Cooker Ranch Potato Galette Recipe Ingredients

Carla shared a recipe for cheesy potatoes made inside a slow cooker, and they were definitely a hit! (llstalteri / Flickr)
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 C milk
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 1/2 C white cheddar cheese – grated
- 4 lb Yukon Gold potatoes – peeled and sliced thin
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 packet Hidden Valley Original Ranch Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg – freshly grated
- cooking spray – for greasing
The Chew: Slow Cooker Ranch Potato Galette Recipe Directions
- Grease the bowl of a slow cooker with cooking spray
- Stack 1/2 the potatoes in the slow cooker
- In a small saucepan, add butter and place over medium heat
- Add the flour and wisk until combined
- Cook for 3 more minutes, stirring, then add the milk while whisking vigorously
- Bring to a simmer and cook, stirring until thick, about 7 minutes
- Add the ranch mix, thyme, nutmeg, salt, pepper, and cheese, then stir to combine and melt the cheese
- Pour 1/2 the sauce over the potatoes in the slow cooker, but don’t stir
- Layer the rest of the potatoes over top, then pour the rest of the sauce on
- Put paper towels over the bowl of the slow coker and put the lid on top
- Cook on low for 3-4 hours
